Learning to love yourself is easier said than done but part of loving yourself is learning to stop living in the past. All those shoulda, woulda, coulda’s don’t define you! Today I want to talk about some very important thought provoking, yet sensitive, and triggering topics; so please keep this in mind as you listen to today’s episode. Have you had trouble loving yourself as a result of the things that happened to you? Maybe there have been times where the people closest to you hurt you; physically, emotionally, maybe even sexually? There isn’t anything you have done or happened to you that can keep you from becoming the woman you were created to be. That can take away your worth!

Have you really learned how to love yourself and the woman that you are now? Are you having thoughts that are destructive and are not serving you? As a woman you wear so many hats; whether you are a mom, you’re juggling a full time job, school, and even running your own business! You put others before yourself and before you even realize it at some point you end up on autopilot mode without asking yourself what your wants and needs are. What happens when you start to blur the lines and serve others only; forgetting about your own identity? How can you fill everyone else’s cup if yours is empty?

As someone who had to put her kids before herself when my husband was working crazy hours, I believed that this was how I found my value. But I learned that I needed to start putting myself first in order to live a life that I could truly enjoy! Who doesn’t want a life full of joy and peace, right? Girl, let me tell you, it was not easy! Part of the process involved me having to confront my past and take my hurts, pains, and traumatic experiences and rewrite them. Because I knew that what happened to me actually happened for me and I - like you - deserve to live as the Hero of my story and not a victim!
