On this weeks episode, we are still rocking and rolling in Black History Month as Valentine’s Day is on the horizon. It is also American Heart Month and it’s the perfect time to check your blood pressure and your cholesterol! On this episode, we tackle the subject of Mental Health with our very special guest Malika Dandridge, PhD(c) who is a Mental Health Counselor that currently works with children ages 5-17 who have dealt with past trauma of being sexually or physically abused or witnessed domestic violence, etc. She earned her Bachelors from The University of Florida in Sociology and Anthropology, earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Psychology from Walden University. She takes us through the process of how to begin your Mental Health journey, how to identify and heal from trauma, how to help bridge the gap of inter-generational trauma and why Mental Health Counselors make us cry!
