Cindy Blom and her family spent 15 years fighting addiction and mental illness battle with their son, Erik. On May 1, 2014, they lost him to an accidental heroin overdose. As a Certified Professional Addiction and Recovery Coach, Cindy now works with those who are battling addiction, trauma, grief, and loss to develop life-giving strategies. Coaching includes helping connect those who struggle with addiction and substance use disorder to medically assisted treatment, trauma, and Adverse Childhood Experience therapy, and coaching for cognitive restructuring as well as the support of various recovery communities. This multi-faceted approach to recovery care is becoming widely accepted as a best-practices solution as addiction becomes more understood as a multi-faceted disorder.
