Produced entirely by WAVY DA GHAWD, it became an instant AOTY contender here at Southern Vangard Radio and damn near a modern day classic in our books. At the top of the month, he dropped his second full length LP, “STATE OF EMERGENCY”, which has the same intensity we’ve come to expect from Spo, but with a slightly different twist by having multiple producers contribute to the sonic backdrop, not to mention it was mostly created while in COVID—19 quarantine. We talk with Spo about both albums and more in this interview session, including his new found independence with recording at home, influences growing up and why his current success wave is a rebirth of sorts, as he’s been releasing music since 2008 but is regarded as a new artist to much of his fan base.
