After its run of sold-out shows in 2012, Shen Yun Performing Arts will return to Arizona with its ALL-NEW 2013 program, at the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center on February 28 to March 3, 2013; and at the Phoenix Orpheum Theatre on March 10, 2013. Mesa, Arizona – AFDA, a non-profit organization whose volunteers strive to raise cross-cultural awareness in Arizona through the promotion of such events as performing arts and fine arts exhibitions. Shen Yun, New York-based non-profit performing arts organization, is a world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company. Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture. In 2011, Shen Yun enchanted royals in London, performed for packed houses across Asia, and received standing ovations at Lincoln Center in New York.
Shen Yun 2013 show is a completely new two hours long program. It features the state-of-the-art digital backdrops interact with the dancers on stage, who all wear vibrant, handmade costumes true to the historical period of the stories being brought to life on stage. Decorated vocal and instrumental soloists are also found within Shen Yun’s unique repertoire. The best theatre seats are found close to the stage and its accompanying full, live symphony orchestra that combines Eastern and Western instruments for a revitalizing fresh sound.
Shen Yun Performing Arts will perform at the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center on the following dates in 2013: 28th Feburary-7:30 pm(Thursday), 1st March-7:30 pm(Friday), 2nd March-2:00 pm and 7:30 pm (Saturday), 3rd March-2:30 pm (Sunday) and at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix on 10th March – 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm (Sunday).
