A modern Russian fairytale about an American actress who adopts a little Russian girl in St. Petersburg in 1994. The actress, Molly McKay, finds herself alone in a Russia that is trying, for the first time in its history, to become a free market democracy. She also discovers that the TV show she starred in back in the ‘80s in the U.S. is now a big hit in Russia, complicating an already harrowing adoption journey.
