Many fans and players view the NHL season in a linear line: there's a beginning (the pre-season), a middle (roughly the All-Star break), and an end (the moment the Stanley Cup is handed to the winning team).
However, after the arena clears out and the players take their trophy out for a night on the town, there's an entire industry which is just beginning their work.
