Welcome to today’s show!
WHAT WE’LL LEARN
- How D.J.’s earliest roots were “tangled, buried, diseased and complex.” Learn why D.J. thought he was adopted (even at a young age) because things were “just so bad.”
- D.J. talks about his fearful experience of spirituality growing up and how God would not “show up for” him and he had proof that God was not showing up.
- D.J. feels all of what he went through led him to the person he is today-a healer.
- D.J.’s recovery journal began when he felt like “giving up” but then went to Al-Anon and discovered his husband wasn’t really the issue and that he was the issue.
- D.J. feels he is “not a bad person” he’s just been to hell and back. And survived.
- When working the 4th & 5th steps, D.J. was tasked with outline all the things he accomplished prior to getting sober. And D.J. felt this was what broke him.
- How D.J. was sending people to 12 steps before he started getting help and going to 12 step meetings.
- What was so “serene” about being in these 12 step meetings and finding a sponsor.
- What behaviors D.J. engaged in that contributed to his recovery.
- What is Co-Dependency and what do healthy boundaries look like.
- What message D.J. has for the A.I.R. community.
