Costa Rica has a new long distance trail that runs from the Caribbean (Atlantic) to the Pacific Ocean. This 16 day, 280 km/175 mi trail takes you through five ecosystems and more than a dozen rural villages not seen by most tourists.

In fact, the Costa Rica Camino is helping these locals afford to stay in their beloved home towns because they are feeding and housing the thru hikers, and even starting new businesses with optional excursions and classes! It's a "Win-Win" for hikers AND locals!

But the trail is still new and the infrastructure is just being fleshed out. On today's show (Part I of a two part series), we learn what we will see and experience. In Part I, we learn about the trail itself...what you see and do.
