Tobii, a Sweden-based trailblazer in eye-tracking technology, released a new device that can help gamers perform better in fast-paced video games. The Tobii Eye Tracker 5 was released in June with an improved head tracking ability, greater speed, and better responsiveness. It is meant to replace the older model Tobii Eye Tracker 4C, which was launched in 2016. The device is specifically designed for gamers, who can use it to enhance their gaming experience, improve their game performance, and come up with tactics for tournaments. The Tobii Eye Tracker 5 has sensors and cameras that recognize and track users’ gazes. To calibrate the device before use, gamers need to follow on-screen instructions that tell them to stare at specific points on the screen. Gamers can use the device to determine the direction of their gaze and head movement, enabling them to analyze gaming behavior patterns and avoid blind spots. The upgraded device also has a new mount that is compatible with different types of screens. It can be set up by magnetically attaching it onto a monitor while the device's USB cable is plugged in. The Tobii Eye Tracker 5 is currently being used in competitive games such as "Counterstrike" and "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds." Later this year, the device will also be used in “Watchdogs: Legion.” According to a report, the tech company is currently adding more games that can be supported by the device for both professional and casual gamers. Tobii recently announced its partnership with gamer training platform Mobalytics and promised that games enhanced by its new eye tracking technology will be continuously made available.
