How Do I Hire a Suitable Physician Career Coach or Consultant?
Manage episode 303344636 series 1755425
This is Part 1 of my discussion of coaches and how to hire one. I receive frequent questions about this topic from listeners. Their questions generally involve one or more of these themes:
- Should I use a coach?
- Where do I find a coach?
- What does coaching cost?
- Do you recommend certain coaches?
I have spoken on the podcast in the past about what coaching is, and how it differs from mentorship, online courses, and other career resources. I have interviewed approximately 40 coaches, although not all of them are career coaches.
Here are the names of my podcast guest physicians who provide career coaching:
- Michelle Mudge-Riley
- Heather Fork
- Maiysha Clairborne
- Laura McKain
- Dike Drummond
- Starla Fitch
- Marjorie Stiegler
- Jarrod Patten
- Mike Woo-Ming
- Dianne Ansari-Winn
- Michelle Bailey
- Errin Weisman
- Andrew Tisser
- Francis Yoo (soul coach)
- Jonathan Vitale (home-based careers)
- Jattu Senesie
- Yvonne Ator
- Ryan Bayley
- Randall (Randy) Cook
- Nerissa Kreher (pharma)
- Stephanie Freeman (locums)
- Mario Mendoza (biotech careers coach)
- Nona Korsah
- Charmaine Gregory
Here are the two nonphysician career coaches I've interviewed:
- Charlotte Weeks
- Marsha Caton
In Part Two, I discuss three directories of physician coaches and my advice for finding a suitable coach or consultant.
Putting these episodes together made me think a lot more about providing career consulting services myself. I have enjoyed the Nonclinical Mastermind Sessions I have been doing, which is a form of group coaching, in my opinion. And I definitely encourage you to try that if it appeals to you.
So, I decided to take the plunge and set aside some time for Nonclinical Career Consulting. And if you want to work with me, you can learn more about it at nonclinicalcareeracademy.com.
There you will find a description of the three levels of Career Consulting Services I provide. You can read the descriptions and set up a short call for us to discuss your needs.
