This week The Parkway Podcast recaps the iconic '80s film, ‘The Karate’ Kid' (1984). Join in as they discuss the first of the many films/shows that comprise the Karate Kid extended universe. After arriving from a National Lampoon-esq journey from Southern California, Danny Larusso (Ralph Macchio) finds himself the target of a group of bullies who study karate at the Cobra Kai dojo. Fortunately, he befriends martial arts master Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita), who takes Daniel under his wing, training him in a more compassionate form of karate. The Parkway guys find that the film is less about karate than it is an '80s teenage romance, with sporadic bouts of martial arts disguised as manual labor.
