Norman Bacal spent a career as a lawyer in the film and television finance industry for over 25 years, representing various Hollywood studios on their Canadian made productions and sat on the board of directors of LionsGate for almost ten years. He was the founder of the Toronto office of Heenan Blaikie in 1989 and went on to build the firm into an iconic Canadian and international firm.

In 2016 he retired from practice and began writing books. The first, a career memoir that went on to be a Canadian bestseller. That spurred a second career as an author of fiction and self-help books for young professionals. Norman also consults with law firm leaders across the continent and mentors young professionals.
