This week Mathias and Daniel are sitting down with Jeanette Verberg an archeologist and curator for the National Museum of Denmark where she is responsible for the Bronze and Viking Age; think Indiana Jones but one who only cared about Viking prehistory and didn't destroy the dig site half the time.
Together they will be discussing her experiences on archeological expeditions as well as her extensive writing, both academic and historic non-fiction about the Viking Age. Unfortunately unless you read Danish you probably won't get much out of her books as they have not been translated into English. However, if you would like to read her academic papers including her most recent one: Where Have All The Young Girls Gone? which discusses the curious absence of women in Bronze Age Swedish rock carvings, as well as the possibility that perhaps they have actually been there all along... then you should check out her National Museum Page. Personally I would recommend the one on the distribution of Mesopotamian Glass, which is a fascinating topic she talks about in the beginning of the episode.
