On Monday, November 21, Chris Beard found out that not only his Texas Men's Basketball team is ranked #4 in the country, but he also found out that 5 star combo guard AJ Johnson from Southern California committed to the Longhorns in the 2023 class. That now makes two top 15 players in the 2023 class for Chris Beard between AJ Johnson and Ron Holland. After a dominant showing against Drew Timme and the Gonzaga Bulldogs, it feels as though Chris Beard has this Longhorn basketball team not only set up for short term success, but this team looks like it has the makeup of one that can compete perennially as well. It will be interesting to see how this Texas team stacks up in conference play, as we know that Kansas are the defending national champions and Baylor won the national championship the year prior. After three games though, I think Baylor and Kansas should be just as worried about Chris Beard and his team as they should be about Bill Self and Scott Drew's squads. Hook Em
