We’re road tripping this week with author and bookstagrammer Angeleke Kaldis as we explore “The Rogue Not Taken” by Sarah MacLean, the first book of the Scandal & Scoundrel series!
Sophie Talbot was one of the “Dangerous Daughters” aka “Spoiled S’s,” but she would always stand up for others, especially her family. She’d rather be in a library or out with a book than be attending a ton activity. When she defended her pregnant sister’s honor, and pushed her brother-in-law, a duke, in a fountain, the ton turned their back on her.
“King” was known to ruin ladies of the ton in his unconventional way. He was climbing out a lady’s window when Sophie saw him escaping.
Holding one of King’s Hessian boots as hostage, Sophie requested a ride back to town. Not wanting to be saddled with one of the “Spoiled S’s” or any woman, he denied her request. Ever resourceful Sophie would find her way into his carriage, but they were going the wrong way yet a change of plan made it the right way.
Sometimes, the things we want in life will not go the way we plan it. The change can be a blessing in disguise towards the better road not taken, even with the rough patches in between. Join the ladies as they discuss Sophie and King’s journey!
