(使徒10:9−16 JCB) 翌日、三人がヨッパの町に近づいたころ、ペテロは祈るために屋上に上っていました。正午ごろのことで、お腹がすき、食事をしたくなりました。ところが、昼食の用意がなされている間に、とろとろと夢ごこちになったのです。ふと見ると、天が開け、四すみをつった大きな布のようなものが降りて来ます。(12) 中には、ユダヤ人には食べることが禁じられていた爬虫類や鳥など、あらゆる種類の動物が入っていました。 (13) そして、「さあ、どれでも好きなものを料理して食べなさい」という声が聞こえました。

(14)「主よ、それはできません。生まれてこのかた、口にしたことがないものです。ユダヤのおきてで禁じられているのですから。」 (15)「ペテロよ、神に反対するのか。神がきよいと言うものはきよいのだ。」 (16) 同じことが三度あってから、布はすうっと天に引き上げられました。

(Acts 10:9-16 NIV) About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. (10) He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. (11) He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. (12) It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.” (14) “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” (15) The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” (16) This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

(使徒10:44-46a JCB) ペテロがまだ話しているうちに、聖霊が一人一人に下りました。(45)ペテロに同行して来たユダヤ人のクリスチャンたちは、外国人にも聖霊の賜物が与えられたので驚きました。(46a)しかし、これは疑う余地のない事実でした。人々は自由にそれぞれ異なった国のことばで話し、神を賛美していたからです。「私たちと同じように聖霊を受けたのですから、この人たちにバプテスマ（洗礼）を授けることに、だれも反対できません。」

(Acts 10:44-46 NIV) While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. (45) The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. (46) For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.

(ローマ8:1-4 JCB) こういうわけで、今は、キリスト・イエスに属する人が罪の宣告を受けることはありません。(2) なぜなら、いのちを与える御霊の力が、罪と死の悪循環から解放してくれたからです。(3) 律法を知っているだけでは、罪の支配からは救い出されません。私たちはそれを守ることもできないし、実際守ってもいないからです。ところが、神は私たちを救うために、別の計画を実行に移されました。すなわち、神のひとり子を、私たちと同じ体を持つ者として〔ただ、私たちのような罪の性質を持たない点では異なりますが〕世にお遣わしになったのです。そして彼を、私たちの罪のためのいけにえとして、私たちをがんじがらめにする罪の支配を打ち破られたのです。(4) ですから今、私たちは聖霊に従って歩むなら、律法に従うことができるのです。そしてもはや、古い罪の性質の言いなりになることはありません。

(Romans 8:1-4 NLT) So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (2) And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. (3) The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. (4) He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.”
