(Matthew 1:18 NLT) This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Proverbs 16:9 CEV) We make our own plans, but the LORD decides where we will go.
1.Detours are Part of the Journey
(Matthew 1:19 NLT) Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly.
2.The Holy Spirit is the Driver, Not Our Feelings
(Matthew 1:20 NLT) As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
(Philippians 4:6-7 NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
3.Plan, But Be Ready for a Holy Spirit Miracle!
(Matthew 1:21 NIV) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
