This program will discuss May Day, May 1. May Day began thousands of years ago to celebrate the change of seasons in the northern hemisphere, but since the 1800s has been a day to celebrate workers and the labor movement. It is now celebrated as an International Worker’s Rights day in many countries throughout the world. May Day is unfortunately associated with socialism. Socialism, in which government owns everything, is mistakenly viewed as benefiting the worker, when in actuality, it enslaves the worker and deprives the worker of the fruits of his labor.
