This program will address the schism in the Methodist Church, which is symbolic of the schism that is occurring in United States society in general. The schism is due to the subject of sodomy; one group approves it while another group opposes it. A similar schism in the various Christian denominations occurred in the middle 1800s just prior to the US Civil War because of the issue of slavery. This schism is one of several troubling indications that the United States may not remain united.
