From the Streets of Paris to the NFL Sideline with JB Laporte

This episode features Jean Baptiste Laporte. JB is entering his ninth season with the Carolina Panthers, and his second season as the director of rehabilitation. In his current role, JB is tasked with assessing injury prevention and rehabilitation of all injured personnel. Laporte previously served as a physical therapist and assistant athletic trainer with the Panthers for seven seasons (2012-19). Prior to his start in the NFL, he spent over six years (2007-13) at Concordia University where he held various titles, including athletic therapist, physical therapist, laboratory coordinator, and instructor. While at Concordia, he developed and instructed course material with students, supervised athletic therapy students, and specialized in the prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. He also served as a head athletic therapist and physical therapist with Football Canada/Football Quebec, assisting with the injury rehabilitation of athletes. Laporte earned a Master's in Physical Therapy in 2002. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia in athletic therapy in 2006, before earning a Master of Science degree in rehabilitation science from the California University of Pennsylvania in 2010. Born in Paris, France, Laporte and his wife, Emilie Pashley, live in Charlotte with their son Luca.
