今月第1週は「ドラマで英語を学ぼう」をお届けします。
夏の風物詩といえば怪談!というわけで、今回は久々にLafcadio Hearn (1850-1904)の"Kwaidan" (1904) をお届けします。本ポッドキャストでは4年前に「おしどり」「」「雪女(1)」「雪女(2)」をお届けしましたが、今回は映画にもなり、体中にお経が書かれたあの琵琶法師の姿でおなじみ、「耳なし芳一」です。
今回は35分と少し長いですが、比較的わかりやすい英語で書かれ、日本人にとって親しみのある題材を扱った「怪談」は、英語学習にも適しています。どうぞ最後までお楽しみください。
