'Written after listening to a lot of Dylan and from a long distance phone conversation with a friend of mine in the UK. She was going through a hard time and I couldn't really put into words what she needed to hear, so I just listened. After the phone call I fell asleep and woke up with the whole melody and words flying out! I recorded this in China 2018 and wanted the recording to have a sense of freedom about it so I imagined a mix between an Irish pub band and a Victorian fairground. The 3/4 timing always lends itself to a dreamy soundscape so in a way I was trying to write a Forever Young mixed with Being for the Benefit of Mr KIte!'
