Man of Great Faith

We glorify God when we demonstrate great faith.

The Centurion’s faith was great because of his:

1. Compassion

• Luke 7:2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die.
• James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
• Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

2. Construction

• Luke 7:5 “for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.”
• James 2:17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

3. Confidence

• Luke 7:7 Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.
• Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
• Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
• Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,
• Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Glorificamos a Dios cuando demostramos gran fe.

La fe del centurión era grande por su:

1. Compasión

• Lucas 7:2 Y el siervo de un centurión, a quien este quería mucho, estaba enfermo y a punto de morir.
• Santiago 1:27 La religión pura y sin mácula delante de Dios el Padre es esta: Visitar a los huérfanos y a las viudas en sus tribulaciones, y guardarse sin mancha del mundo.
• Colosenses 3:12 Vestíos, pues, como escogidos de Dios, santos y amados, de entrañable misericordia, de benignidad, de humildad, de mansedumbre, de paciencia;

2. Construcción

• Lucas 7:5 porque ama a nuestra nación, y nos edificó una sinagoga.
• Santiago 2:17 Así también la fe, si no tiene obras, es muerta en sí misma.

3. Confianza

• Lucas 7:7 por lo que ni aun me tuve por digno de venir a ti; pero di la palabra, y mi siervo será sano.
• Hebreos 11:6 Pero sin fe es imposible agradar a Dios; porque es necesario que el que se acerca a Dios crea que le hay, y que es galardonador de los que le buscan.
• Filipenses 1:6 estando persuadido de esto, que el que comenzó en vosotros la buena obra, la perfeccionará hasta el día de Jesucristo;
• Isaias 41:10 No temas, porque yo estoy contigo; no desmayes, porque yo soy tu Dios que te esfuerzo; siempre te ayudaré, siempre te sustentaré con la diestra de mi justicia.
