What’s In Your Food? (#195)
American food, even much of what we buy at “healthy” food stores, can be fumigated, rinsed with chemicals to prolong their shelf life, and not what we thought we were paying for.
And, then there’s the processed foods, especially oils and coloring dyes. These can contain heavy metals that are especially damaging to the fetal brain and the brains of your growing children and beloved family.
Dr. Dufault, PhD. studied environmental science at UC Davis, graduating in 1990. She was commissioned by the Navy to work as an officer in the toxicology field before transferring to the U.S. Public Health Service and Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Dufault saw a lot, so she’s been writing about what she knows to be true about foods, and how to help you stay well. She founded the non-profit “Food Ingredient and Health Research Institute” to continue her research to continue to help you.
In this show you will learn:
- There is mercury in corn syrup.
- Which dyes are the most dangerous for your child’s brain
- Which oils are the most dangerous
- Why are veggies at places like Whole Foods different than from your local farmer’s markets.
- Why you should eat 2 to 5 Brazil nuts a day but never binge on them.
- And much more.
Dr. Dufault’s book, Unsafe at Any Meal: What the FDA Does Not Want You to Know About the Foods You Eat, comes with an online tutorial that guides you through healthy food purchasing and much more.
