Chinook helicopters, basically an advanced multi-mission machine can also be classified as a medium-lift helicopter that’s also seen more combat employment than possibly any other helicopter in that class, globally. The Indian Air Force has inducted 15 of these, and with their ceiling limit allowing operations in very high altitudes, they are a huge force multiplier to Commanders in these difficult areas. They improve force mobility, reinforcement capabilities and response time, logistics, to state just a few dividends.
