Manage episode 282241929 series 2847786
In this episode, we go deep into a discussion about Madeline Miller's first book The Song of Achilles which was published in 2011, won the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2012, and most importantly, made it to the top of both our lists for Favorite Reads of 2020.
There was so much to talk about in regards to this book because it is so well written and retells such a rich story that we could have talked about it forever but we kept it to only one and a half hours. If you want to hear us talk about it more, we would love to hear from you! Find our links below, don't be shy!
Next week we are going to be talking about popular literary tropes and how we feel about them so if you have any strong opinions on this subject matter, we want to know what they are.
If you haven't started it yet, the following week we will be talking about our #bestbookclub pick which is The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. We originally made a mistake by scheduling this episode a little early in the month and we were just going to go with it, but then we realized that we make the rules - so we've changed it. Have the book read by January 24th and let us know what you thought! We'd love to know because this podcast isn't just for us or just about us it's for you guys.
Don't forget to subscribe to our show and maybe leave us a review if you like what you hear (or if you don't, that's okay too, but preferably if you do)
