Do you know the difference between mentoring, coaching, management and leadership? While all are important, there is movement in leadership. It is focused on the collective and taking them somewhere they couldn't get on their own, not on nurturing an individual. Listen in to learn more about following and being a leader.
- Leadership is distinct from other individuals you might seek out in your career. Mentors provide guidance and advice. Coaches help you set goals, get skills, and hold you accountable. Managers provide directives, assign roles and set deadlines.
- Leaders act for the collective and hold a vision while showing the way. Following them is a choice.
- Leaders question the premise, they don't operate within the status quo.
- Leaders take you out of your comfort zone and help you see what's possible.
- Leaders are wayshowers and unflinching advocates.
- If you don't take a stand for what you believe, no one knows if they want to follow you.
