Today I am talking with grief therapist Cait Wotherspoon about grief, bereavement and loss in life. I recently lost someone in my life suddenly and I started searching for information and answers online surrounding how to grieve but was met with conflicting information. I thought it would be great to talk to a therapist regarding this subject. Death is something we will all have to face at some point in our lives and is inevitable... however, we go deeper into what is grief when we lose someone unexpectedly to suicide or an accident and the statistics surrounding suicide in Australia, how we can best support one another and what is important to do when we are feeling suicidal ourselves. Thank you so much to Cait for taking the time to speak to me about mental health, grief and so much more, her knowledge and experience is so valuable and I appreciate her taking the time to speak with me.
I am discussing some issues in here that relate to my own depression, suicidal thoughts and my own grief. We are discussing death, suicide, drug overdoses and different ways in which people pass, so if you find this upsetting at all please stop the episode and reach out to friends, family or crisis centre.
