Originally conceived by veteran heshers "Metal" Ron and Gerald "Rattlehead" in 1985, Powerchord is Vancouver's longest running metal show! And the torch is still burning with contemporary hosts Coleman, Serena, Chris, Justin, and Ian, covering all sub-genres across the harsh landscape of heavy metal. New releases, local bands, the obscure, the classic, and everything in-between. Two hours of absolute brutality every Saturday from 1-3pm.

Each week host and producer Andrew Longhurst provides listeners with an alternative look at our changing urban spaces in this weekly urban affairs show. The program includes news, interviews, discussions, documentaries, and music. You'll find critical discussions of the people, politics, policies, and processes shaping urban geographies on issues ranging from gentrification to food security to urban economic change.

Starting with some serene chill tracks at the beginning and building to the INSANEST FACE MELTERS OF ALL TIMEEE, Crescendo will take you on a musical magic carpet ride that you couldn't imagine in your wildest dreams. Besides overselling his show, Jed will play an eclectic set list that builds throughout the hour and features both old classics, and all the greatest new tracks that the hipsters think they know about before anyone else does.

An interview-based show about how students, past and present, have come up with creative ways to overcome social challenges in the community. Each episode will invite individuals to share their stories of success and failure, along with actionable advice on how to start an innovative initiative that serves the community. Hear from UBC students, alumni and others involved in the community!
