Sheer Isolation 84 - Dawn Dines (StopTopps)
Manage episode 318271599 series 3278563
We're tackling the often-taboo subject of drink spiking on this week's Sheer Isolation.
Dawn Dines is the founder of Stamp Out Spiking and is also the inventor of StopTopps - a foil topper that can be stuck to drinks cans and bottles to help prevent clubbers becoming another victim.
Off the back of recent local and national news stories on the subject, Dawn has presented her case to politicians in Westminster as she continues her campaign to have spiking recognised as a separate crime.

Two throwbacks for our music choices this week. Dawn goes back to the seventies with one of her favourites from X-Ray Spex, and Jon picks a tune from the archive of Ben Marwood - a songwriter who's playing in Bristol next week.
We also have a positive discussion about this summer's festival season, and how stand up comedy appears to be bouncing back quicker than music gigs in the region.
