Welcome back! I'm so excited to share this episode with you! I got to interview Liza Dailey, an amazing woman whom I have always admired from afar. I finally decided to ask her about her parenting secrets. Enjoy every nugget of gold she dispenses. I truly enjoyed learning from her. Her introduction below was written by her daughter and my friend, Laura Dailey. Here it is! Liza Dailey is passionate about many things: piano teaching, learning about history, leading youth choirs, classical music, reading, finding reasons to celebrate and celebrating with gusto (often involving delicious food and large helpings of dessert!). But above all these passions and interests, I have never known a more dedicated mother. Reflecting on moments with my mom, I picture walking up the hill as a little girl to find the first buttercups in the spring, or eating banana bars at the end of the school day while I tell her about a science project. I remember late nights where I learned from her how to edit an English paper (a gift that keeps giving!) and early morning smoothies she lovingly made at 6:00am (!!). She was present in my life in so many moments I couldn’t possibly name them all even if I tried. Liza is mother of 5 and grandmother of 12. After marrying her sweetheart, a farmer, she settled in rural Washington and has lived there ever since. She loves the beautiful view of the rolling hills, especially when the wheat turns from green to gold. Liza currently teaches piano lessons, serves in her church as the leader of the women’s group (Relief Society), and helps her husband, Kirby, as they put the finishing touches on their dream home. Liza also keeps busy with frequent trips and visits home to the farm from children and grandchildren.
