Part 1. Going Virtual We’ve always known that it’s going to be an all-virtual world. Not right now, but soon--maybe in another few years. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed this expectation, however. It forced everything into going virtual. According to Mark, many remodelers have been pulled into virtual and Zoom selling, and those who embraced the process have seen many good returns. “There are a lot of benefits,” says Mark. “And one of the benefits is the number of leads that you can do in a particular month. Based on my analysis, you can literally double the number of sales that you’re able to do, if--in fact--you can become really proficient at it.” He shares some handy tips to help you make more effective at going virtual: 1. Having an established sales process is even more crucial when going virtual. 2. In a virtual interaction, aesthetics should be taken into account because of certain limitations. 3. Company presentation should be focused on more. Make sure you’re using the right videos, portfolio, and graphics to tell your company’s story. 4. Keep your visuals consistent. 5. Set the right pace and cadence in a virtual interaction. 6. Practice how you set the agenda. Once you embrace going virtual and become better at it, adapting to the current situation and taking your business to the next level is more worry-free. Part 2. Interview with Dave Smith, Founder of Smithouse Construction In the second part of our podcast, Mark interviews Dave Smith, founder of Smithouse Construction, a design build firm near the Baltimore area. Dave has made virtual meetings and Zoom selling an integral part of his business process. “We started dabbling with Google Hangouts, and just started having some remote meetings internally…and virtual meetings with clients,” says Dave. He eventually settled on using Zoom as his platform for virtual meetings and sales. “It’s been a game-changer in terms of how quickly we can respond to leads that are coming in…We’re having more leads than we’ve had before.” Tune in as Mark and Dave talk more on how you can seamlessly--and effectively--integrate virtual and Zoom selling into your business.
